Artificial grass surface

A lot of good movement is essential for your horses and a reliable exerciser is the perfect tool. But as important is a good floor which contributes to the proper functioning of the hoof mechanism. When the hoof pushes off the ground, the surface must give enough counter pressure to the frog so that the hoof mechanism, the blood pump, is optimally stimulated to let the blood in the hoof flow. The horses must trust the floor in order that they walk on the surface in a natural manner and with their typical gait. An underestimated risk for the health and stamina of horses is airborne dust particles that are often released from the materials used to make the floor. The surface should be kept clean to avoid the action of fungi and bacteria on hoofs and it is therefore very important that manure is removed every day.

Benefits of artificial grass

• Fewer injuries to joints and tendons
• Less breakage and damage to hoofs
• Less wear on horseshoes
• Sound absorbing
• Easy maintenance, manure can be easily removed
• Water permeable, will not get muddy with rain
• Frost using
• To place directly on concrete or pavers

New artificial grass is available in grass blade lengths of 24,40 and 60mm, filled with sand. The complete track will be fully covered with artificial grass. The sub-base which could include lava or concrete/pavers will be covered with pressure-distributing geotextile to prevent wear on the bottom of the artificial grass. Seams are glued and the blades are filled with quartz sand 0.4-1.2mm for good drainage.
