Seawalker

The Seawalker is built with a Belebro horse exerciser or Topspin exerciser and has been developed in consultation with, and with vital input from, a number of leading vets, equine physiotherapists, physiologists and equine podiatrists with the intention of creating an ideal exercising environment both for horses recuperating from injury as well as horses in training. The result is a horse exerciser containing filtered, purified and chilled natural seawater. The influence of salt water baths result mainly from the stimulation of the salt water on skin reactions to the body forces. The pressure of the relatively heavy salt water through resistance training on the body stimulates the flow of blood from the veins and lymphatic fluid to the heart, generating a training stimulus for the cardiovascular system and respiratory muscles. The salt water has a disinfecting effect on minor wounds and abrasions. The "salty" air above the water has a purifying effect on the airways.

Purposes

The Seawalker contains salt water cooled to 2-4°C and is used specifically for therapeutic purposes (hooves, muscles, tendons, respiratory) and for resistance training to build strength, endurance and greater pace.
